Homeward bound
Six months. A ton of company. Six trips to Sayulita, three to San Pancho, two to Melaque, one to Barra de Navidad, and some sailing in between.
And then it was time to head back to Canada to manage a few things and find my footing.
The plan (well, sort of). I still hadn’t figured out the whole “online income” thing. In the meantime, I was helping a friend launch a dental product, and there were some dental offices that could use contracted help.
There was also a lot of purging. Always too much stuff. Sailing is going to be such a simpler way of life. One more round of car Tetris and I was off.
I wouldn’t be alone for the drive. Ruben chaperoned me most of the way through Sinaloa, and then I traveled with Konstantin, who was bringing a boat and a dog to the USA. This time, there’d be no scenic route. I had commitments coming up quickly.
Puerto Vallarta → Los Mochis
Los Mochis → Hermosillo. Drop Ruben, then stop at KM 21 to cancel my TIP and check out of Mexico. (I explain the TIP in Driving From Canada to Mexico.)
On toward Phoenix. Just kidding, turns out Phoenix is sketch so we kept driving until we got tired, and slept at a truck stop. An 18-hour day behind the wheel.
Hoover Dam. Worth the stop. Through Vegas and up to Idaho.
Idaho → Calgary. Home by dinner time.
Four day trek. It feels nice to be home.
